Description

What is Natural Eating?

If you’re like me, you’ve had a life-long struggle with your weight. You’ve probably tried most of the popular diets. They worked for a while, then sooner or later the results tapered off and soon you were back to your old eating habits. It took me most of my adult life to figure out why. It’s because dieting is about what you eat, but losing weight is about what you think about eating. Natural Eating is a way to change your thinking. No matter what any of the diet gurus tell you, there’s only one way to lose weight: Burn more calories than you consume. That’s it. That’s all. It doesn’t matter what you eat as long as you don’t eat more of it than you can burn off. The Natural Eating program can help you to maintain a healthy balance. The 7Cs of Natural Eating can help you to change your relationship with food so you can change how you think about eating…naturally.

How Does the Natural Eating Program Work?

This program is a 12-week journey that explores your relationship with food through the principles of intuitive eating. Using the skills of mindfulness, the program helps you to change your thinking about what and how you eat. It’s based on the 7Cs of Natural Eating, which are:
  1. Cease the diet mentality
  2. Conscious eating
  3. Call a truce with food
  4. Challenge the food police
  5. Connect to your senses
  6. Comfort your feelings, not your appetite
  7. Choose change
When you have successfully completed the program, you will change the way you think about food and dieting forever! NOTE This course is for the general public, not specifically for mental health professionals. No continuing education credit with the National Board for Certified Counselors is available for this course.
