It is your responsibility to see if your licensure board will accept these courses for continuing education credit in your state.
When developing courses we use the highest standards. All of our course work is evidence-based, with clearly defined learning objectives. There is a course evaluation at the end of each lesson. Most course materials are available here online for you to examine for free. You may study the course materials and take the exam for free in most cases, then pay for the certificate when you pass the course.
CERTIFICATION IN MINDFULNESS-BASED ECOTHERAPY
Do you enjoy nature? Have you ever been camping, hiking or canoeing? Do you enjoy hunting and fishing? If so, you are probably already aware of nature’s power to relax and heal. A large and growing body of research demonstrates that nature is good for the mind as well as the body. Ecopsychology is the study of nature’s ability to heal. Ecotherapy is the application of ecopsychology in a therapeutic setting.
Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the moment in which you find yourself by focusing on your immediate experience, rather than on ruminations that may be producing stress depression, or anxiety. The benefits of mindfulness as a tool for stress reduction and self-improvement have been thoroughly researched. Mindfulness works so well in this capacity that it has been referred to as the “penicillin of mental health.”
Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy (MBE) is a blending of Mindfulness and Ecopsychology.
MBE is used as a framework for helping individuals and families to find deeper connections in their own lives, and to give more meaning and enjoyment to the activities of daily living. By re-integrating ourselves with nature, we are able to tap into nature’s healing power and to heal the earth as we heal ourselves.
The Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy Workbook and the Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy Workshop series were developed by Charlton Hall, LMFT/S, RPT-S as a 12-week program to help individuals re-connect with the healing power of nature. The series meets once per week for 90 minutes, usually in an outdoor setting. The Mindful Ecotherapy Center has been training facilitators for Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy since 2012. Now this popular facilitator training program is available online!
The MBE Facilitator Training Program is a 50-hour program that includes the following courses:
Mindfulness: An Introduction – 10 hours
Ecotherapy: An Introduction – 10 hours
Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy in Clinical Practice – 25 hours
Group Dynamics and Facilitation – 5 hours
All of these courses will be available online in the near future. For more information about the next scheduled live facilitator certification training, complete the Contact Form below.
Upon successful completion of all 50 hours of the Mindfulness-Based Ecotherapy Certification Program, you will be given a Certificate of Completion and you will receive a free listing on our Certified Facilitators page.
